Student Scholarships

Student Scholarships are made available through the generous support of several corporate sponsors. These $500 scholarships are available to students enrolled in the final year of a program leading to CSMLS certification.

Grants for Continuing Education and Professional Development

Founders' Fund Awards are sponsored by the CSMLS to assist members with their continuing professional development:

International Founders' Fund Award
assists members who are presenting papers or posters at international meetings or otherwise enhancing the profile of Canadian medical laboratory technology abroad.

E. V. Booth Scholarship Fund
provides Financial assistance to members pursuing a university degree while advancing their career in medical laboratory science.

Barbara Santalab-Rickey Memorial Award
The Barbara Santalab-Rickey Memorial Award provides a $500 grant to a medical laboratory technologist who wishes to further his/her knowledge and skills in advanced hematology.

Grants for Francophone Members in the area of Continuing Education

CSMLS Francophone CE Fund (formerly Quebec CE Fund) The fund was initially established in 1984 from the assets of the discontinued Quebec Branch of the CSMLS (then CSLT). The purpose of the CSMLS Francophone CE Fund is:

"…to improve/create services for all francophone members of the CSLT (now CSMLS) in the area of continuing education." In addition "the monies may be used to enhance other francophone services (i.e. publications, public relations, etc.)"

Approximately $1800 is available per year to any CSMLS member or group, within and outside of Quebec, whose intent is to develop or improve French educational services for Francophone CSMLS members. All programs must be directly related to medical laboratory science.
